About Fitzgerald Surveying Services Ltd
Fitzgerald Surveying Services Ltd is a family-run, independent property surveying company based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. We provide RICS home surveys, specialist inspections and energy assessments across South East England, with every report prepared solely in the client’s interest. If you are checking who you would be dealing with before booking a survey, this page sets out who we are, how we work and the standards we hold ourselves to.
- Our Story
The Fitzgerald Surveying Story
Fitzgerald Surveying Services is a family-run practice, not a corporate firm working for volume. That distinction shapes everything about how we operate. Surveys are never rushed to hit a daily quota, reports are written for the person paying for them, and the surveyor who inspects the property is the same person you can speak to afterwards.
The business was built on a simple observation: buyers making the largest financial decision of their lives were being handed reports written for lenders, full of caution and jargon but light on genuinely useful advice. We set out to offer the opposite. High quality surveys with fast turnaround times, findings explained in plain English, and advice that always puts the client’s best interest first.
Today we work with home buyers, landlords, investors and commercial property owners across South East England, combining traditional surveying expertise with modern diagnostic tools such as thermal imaging and drone inspection.

Our Mision
To provide reliable, unbiased, independent property surveys tailored to each client’s needs.
Our Vision
To be the leading independent property surveying company across South East England, known for accuracy and client care.

RICS Property Surveys That Actually Help You Decide
As home survey specialists, our property surveyors carry out a full and detailed inspection of the building. You get a clear breakdown of what is in good condition, what is showing defects and what may need your immediate attention. Everything is explained in straightforward terms, so the report actually helps you make decisions instead of creating any confusion.
from £ 350 + VAT
The condition survey is mainly about giving you a clear idea of how the property is holding up at a glance. A RICS surveyor will inspect the visible areas, highlight any obvious defects and point out signs of wear and tear that need your attention.
- Report issued within 2 days
from £ 500 + VAT
The RICS Level 2 Home Survey is the most popular home survey. A more in-depth condition analysis of the building, including the roof, walls, floors, windows, drainage and the general structure. The report highlights what is in good condition, early signs of potential issues and any repairs you may need.
- Report issued within 2 days
from £ 600 + VAT
The RICS Level 3 Home Survey is the most detailed survey available, providing a comprehensive report of the property’s condition. It goes well beyond surface level, focusing on the structure, materials, defects and potential problem areas, and recommends any necessary repairs.

- Why Choose Us
What Makes Fitzgerald Surveying Services Different
Most buyers only commission a handful of surveys in a lifetime, so it is difficult to judge one firm against another. These are the differences our clients tend to notice.
Truly Independent Advice We have no affiliation with lenders, estate agents or contractors. Every report is prepared exclusively for you, which means findings are delivered honestly even when they complicate a purchase.
Because we are not chasing volume, each property gets the time it needs. You deal directly with people who know your survey, not a call centre, and nothing about the inspection is outsourced.
Every report uses clear structure, condition ratings, photographs and practical priorities. Where a technical term is unavoidable, it is explained. You should never need a second opinion just to understand the first one.
Thermal imaging, drone inspection and damp detection equipment help us evidence issues that are not visible during a standard inspection, from hidden moisture to roof defects that cannot be safely reached from the ground.
- Location Coverage Areas
Areas We Cover in South East England
Fitzgerald Surveying Services is based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and works throughout Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey, with coverage extending across Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Berkshire. Because we are local rather than a national panel firm, the surveyor who inspects your property will usually have surveyed others like it nearby. Our dedicated location pages list the towns we cover and the services available in each area.

Jake did a fantastic job with our Level 3 Home Survey. He was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. While we were on holiday, he took the lead in organising both a drain survey and a structural survey, which made everything much less stressful. Jake also took the time to thoroughly review all the documents and promptly responded with clear, detailed feedback whenever needed. His communication and attention to detail were excellent, and it was clear that he genuinely cared about helping us make an informed decision. It was a pleasure working with Jake and the team. I would 100% recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and professional surveyor. Thank you, Jake! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Posted on Google![]()
